"Dig Deeper. Think Bigger. Read a Mu'Fuckin Book"
Read a Mu'Fuckin Book, is a more than a virtual book club. It is a space for black young adults to come together, learn, and connect. Whether you are the Black woman climbing the corporate ladder, the HBCU grad getting your master's at a PWI, the creative building your brand, the entrepreneur hustling to grow your business, the educator pouring into your students, or the person just trying to figure it the fuck out, this club is for you.

We read books that dive into Black history, wealth, oppression, and empowerment so we can truly understand how we got here and why we face what we do today. It is about going beyond surface level conversations and unpacking the systems, mindsets, and histories that shape our lives.

But is is not just about reading, it is about building community. We hold space for organic, real conversations with other young Black adults in all walks of life, sharing perspectives and learning from each other as we grow. Because when we know our history and understand the truth, we gain the knowledge and power to move differently in this world.
I am Jayla, a young professional deeply passionate about understanding black history, where we come from, and how it shapes the way we move through the world today. I started "Read a Mu'Fuckin Book" because I believe knowledge is power, and too often, we are left piecing together bits of out story instead of seeing the full picture.

From my time at an HBCU to navigating corporate, leading financial conversations with young professionals, and having deep conversations with friends about life, I have seen how important it is for us to know our history and each other. This book club is my way of creating space for black young adults to come together, read books that matter to us, and have real, unfiltered conversations about what we are learning and experiencing.

This is a virtual book club, open to anyone no matter where you are. My hope is that we dig deeper, think bigger, and build together one book at a time.
